Our Active Youth School Programme aims to develop paddlers’ technical skills, confidence and fundamental habits to support their enjoyment of the sport and progression if they decide to continue their journey.

For under 18’s we offer Kayaking, Stand Up Paddleboarding and Canoeing sessions or kids only sessions at all of our locations. Children 8+ or even younger (please call to discuss) we can accommodate at our Brentford Lock or Ladbroke Grove locations. These hidden gems on the Grand Union canal – Brentford is a short distance away from our main location at Kew Bridge. Both are very quiet and calm, perfect for young children, teenagers and beginners of all ages who are looking for a gentle introduction to Stand Up Paddleboarding. We have canoes and Kayaks available for the really hesitant ones who are worried about balance and definitely don’t want to get wet. 

We also run youth activities at Kew Bridge. Youth sessions can only be taken on a low tide on the River Thames as this is the safest time to go out on the water for beginners (tides are not regular and vary every day). We do not indicate whether it is a low tide or a high tide session on our scheduling (this would cause too much confusion!)  Get in touch to check what the river is doing on the day you have in mind and we can tell you the suitable times that day. 

We have an Adventure Activity Licence issued  by the HSE so you can be assured of best safety practices. 

We can accomodate schools or youth groups of up to 30+ and we also offer a split group option where we split into 2 smaller groups one after the other which reduces the price per person. We can also run Paddle & Pick sessions where the groups can alternate between a session on water and a foreshore clean up and environmental talk.

We also offer 2-hour children’s SUP parties at our Brentford Lock from £49/child. We can take groups of up to 18 young people from aged 8 upwards. All children need to be confident swimmers.
